Writing Festival
As part of our school wide writing festival, Holly and Cherry class enjoyed a visit from the author James Campbell, who retold his story 'The Umbrella Tree'. The children tuned in well to the vocabulary and the expression James used to entertain them during the story-telling session. We hope it has inspired some of our children to become authors and enthusiastic story tellers in the not-too-distant future! The children then had a go at drawing, using their imagination and from the descriptions, what they thought 'The Umbrella Tree' looked like.
We also looked at the story 'Tuesday', a wordless picture book containing lots of frogs! The children drew frogs and wrote a sentence.
