Autumn Awe and Wonder
The children love being outdoors and recently discovered lots of worms by digging in loose soil and looking beneath pots. We suggested to the children that we could give them a home in a wormery. Some children helped to layer the soil and sand and collect dry leaves to place on the top. The worms were carefully placed into their new home, ready for the children to observe the trails the worms make as they move up and down. The children understand that the sleeve needs to be kept on the wormery for most of the time, as the worms do not like daylight.
