All About Me
This term our topic "All about Me" allowed children time to talk about themselves and their families. The children brought in a photo from home to share with their peers. We created a display in the classroom which children love to talk about. Next, we learnt about our body parts by drawing round ourselves on big pieces of paper. We then labelled the body parts. Later, we looked closely at our faces using mirrors and discussed the differences in our faces. We then created some self-portraits following an art lesson. Children were keen to discuss how they have changed over time since we were born. We learnt to use vocabulary such as baby, toddler, young child, teenager, adult and elderly person.
Our topic led us to talk about our school and learn about the town we live in. We went on a walk around our school grounds, creating a map of our school.
