In Key Stage 1 we have been learning about the Spanish conquistador Francisco Pizarro who landed in Peru in 1532. He discovered the Inca Empire and unusual and strange creatures in the Amazon Rainforest.

We have found out about some of the birds that Francisco Pizarro might have seen living in the Amazon Rainforest.

We conducted a simple comparative test to investigate the most suitable material to protect a tropical bird egg from a fall from a tree. We made a nest out of different materials and dropped them from a height to see which material protected the egg the best.

Our school is a thriving Christian community where our children are central to everything that we do. Adults and children enjoy working together to achieve their full potential.
