The children in Cherry and Holly class all came to school on Friday 16th October wearing red to show their support for ‘Show Racism the Red Card’ day. This tied in very nicely with our RE lesson where we talked about how God loves each one of us equally regardless of how we look. Our RE lessons are well underway now and we are reaching the conclusion of our first topic, ‘God’s World’. We learned about the Creation and have now moved on to thinking about God’s love for each and every one of us. Our lesson on Friday mornings often includes a presentation and the children are always keen to contribute their ideas. This week we talked about how great God’s love is for us and they came up with some brilliant analogies, “God’s love for me is as big as the…world, the sea, the sun, the planets, space!” We always finish the morning with a reflection where we dim the lights and recall and reflect on the day’s learning with some music, sharing our thoughts and a prayer. We are always so proud of our children and their positive and reflective engagement in this very important aspect of their life at St Louis.
