As we have continued our journey through Advent to Christmas, we have spent more time with our Jesse tree: each child has created a decoration to hang on the tree in our classroom which represents different stories through the Old Testament which led up to Jesus’s birth. This week, we’ve heard about Jonah, Ruth and the prophecies of Jesus’s birth from Isaiah.

We have also had our Decorate the Classroom morning this week which saw reindeer, angels, snowflakes and Christmas trees fill our classroom. By some miracle, we were not covered in glitter by the end!

We have also had a lovely week of writing as we’ve started to look at The Journey (by Francesca Sanna). The children have been engrossed by the illustrations and come up with some really original ideas about the meanings behind them.

Homework: Maths on factors and primes (if there are highlighted questions, these are the ones they are to do; if there are none highlighted, then they do both sides of the sheet). Y5: the next comprehension.

Our school is a thriving Christian community where our children are central to everything that we do. Adults and children enjoy working together to achieve their full potential.
