Order! Order!

Post number two which has been stuck in cyber space for several months…

Wow! What another busy week…

The Year 5s worked fantastically hard on Tuesday as we explored how the Beatitudes would have impacted those who listened to them 2000 years ago on the mountain; they had to think about how different groups of Jews might have felt towards the Roman occupation and Jesus’ work throughout Galilee. They also had to then reflect on what we can learn from them today. It was deep stuff so well done to them!

Whilst we delved into the Beatitudes, the Year 6s had a fun-filled Maths day altogether in Maple class; they returned to Larch class enthused and loved having spent the entire day doing Maths!

Finally, as part of ‘Parliament Week’ this week, UKS2 spent Thursday afternoon exploring the House of Commons, creating their own motions to debate as a class and learning about suffrage. They really enjoyed the experience and even democratically voted on question for School Council to present to our local MP, Matt Hancock, on Friday. They loved it when he popped in to see our Maths lesson!

Next week will be another busy week with the Year 5s starting to concentrate on their performance for the pyramid Advent Service in December and the Year 6s spending more time problem solving in Maths…

Our school is a thriving Christian community where our children are central to everything that we do. Adults and children enjoy working together to achieve their full potential.
