Rowan Class certainly know how to have a busy week! We started by collecting materials to make a hotel for minibeasts and we ended it with a fire engine.
We foraged around the school grounds and found natural items that could be used to make a habitat for an insect. We shared our findings with our groups and decided which creature might live in which parts of our ‘hotel’. Watch this space for the finished hotel. Our classroom wormery is now in full action. I wonder if it will look different on Monday?
KS1 was incredibly fortunate to have a visit from the local Fire and Rescue department. Fireman Sam (yes, that really is his name!) came to visit with Ben, James, Rick and Nick. Rowan Class were incredibly excited to meet our visitors and asked lots of questions. They are a fountain of knowledge, just ask them! We could even make all 3 siren sounds by ourselves! We also must be very strong…that equipment is heavy!
The children have decided that they are going to tell the class about their favourite food for this week’s show and tell. They might ask you which country it comes from!
