On Thursday 31st January 2019 we were visited by ‘History Off the Page’. They spent the day with Key Stage 1 to help the children find out about life in London at the time of the Great Fire in 1666.
The children experienced life as it would have been lived at the time of the Great Fire of London as apprentices on the streets, learning skills common for workers of the time. As the children learnt their trades, the fire spread, with the flames moving closer. The children had to take action to stop it, including forming fire lines and tearing down local buildings.
In the afternoon, the children investigated what was left of the city and had to look for evidence that could be used to help rebuild London.
