Hello and welcome to Larch class!
We’ve had a busy couple of weeks already, getting to know each other as we settle into our new routines. We’ve already delved deeply into our history unit on the Normans; indeed, we delved so deeply that we went back to 43AD when the Romans invaded Britain and looked at subsequent group migrations to these isles up until 1066! The children were fantastic at mapping these out and their memory and enthusiasm for remembering all the full dates and names (Harald or Harold?!) of the main events of 1066 has been amazing!
On Tuesday, we also dedicated the entire day to our first ‘proper’ Science experiment of the year; the children were eager to contribute lots of ideas to our exploration of dissolving and we even had a few of them declaring that this is what they would love to do when they are older!
